San Marcos Writing Project Leadership Team

Advanced Institutes and Continuity Groups - For people that have done the Summer Invitational, these ongoing groups are avenues to stay engaged in writing research and continue participating within the San Marcos Writing Project community.  These groups typically form a book club around a study book which will be provided by the Project and meet to discuss their book as well as share their own reflections and ideas from their own implementation in their classrooms.  It is hoped that these groups will develop in-service trainings that may be presented at their schools or districts, presented for other districts that may inquire, presented at regional, state and national teaching conferences, shared to advanced institute attendees or for special workshops during the summer, or written into research or publications that will submitted for publication in journals or as books.  Currently, the SMWP is supporting continuity groups in Technology, Six-Traits Writing, Academic Writing, and Supporting English Language Learners although is looking for leaders for other groups.
